Do visit prior to your child starting. It is always great to make friends before starting.
Provide suitable clothing. (We would not recommend your best clothing as we use lots of paint!).
Named coats/gloves and hats for winter and sun hats for summer!
Dress your child in suitable footwear. We do go outside at all times of year.
Provide a named bag with a change of clothing, you never know when a spare change might be needed.
All children develop at different rates. Your child does not have to be able to read and write before starting!
Apply and provide sun cream for those hot summer days.
Name Lunch boxes and drinks. We get lots of the same design!
Join our Facebook page. It keeps you informed of all sorts!
Chat to your child in a positive way before they start.
First day tears are common. Staff will call you to let you know your child has settled. A settling in period can be designed around your child’s needs, if required.
A termly Newsletter provides information. You will receive a copy but it is also on facebook and our Website.
Get your child to draw a picture to bring in with them on their first day.
Make sure we have lots of contact details and that you keep us up to date with any changes.
Your Key worker will be there, where possible, to meet you on your first day.
Remember your child does not have to be toilet trained.
Do chat to staff about any concerns you may have.
Once your child has settled, why not come in for parent Stay and Play. It is fun!
